1. Introduction

The laboratory has been studying a single surface paraglider for a long time ago...
It's here and now complete plans for the free study, copy, and development!!!

One of the first projects of the Laboratory, was the gnupwing. The intention was really to create a single surface paraglider. Its low coefficient of glide ratio leave the matter as a mere curiosity, but very funny.

Years ago, I had worked in several models of simple surface.

Undoubtedly, the Ozone XXLite surprised us this year... However, the concept it is nothing more than a refinementof the David Barish Sailwing (1965).

With the help of my friend Carles Torres from STRIP-AIR, we conducted some initial experiments in full scale. Carles cut and modified in his workshop, a conventional wing to make it a single surface. To everyone's surprise..., this wing flies perfectly! And only used 4 anchors per rib. The first glides were made in the school ramp in Organyà (Catalan Pyrenees). Other small runs and glides in my training area in Teià. The brake pressure is low. The ease of inflation is amazing, super easy!, even without wind. The inflation with wind is "explosive", and must be undertaken with caution.

Based on previous experience, during november 2011 I worked in modifications on LEparagliding program to allow design for simple paraglider surface. The most difficult thing has been get the proper rotations in space of the load triangles, to be perfectly aligned with the direction of the lines. Finally achieved, and the plans of a model identical in geometry to the Barretina but in simple surface, is included here.

The first prototype of BarretinaHyperlite, is currently being built by my friends at Adrenaline Paragliders headquarters in Yecla (south east of Spain). Is very close to complete (in january 2012). The glider will be renamed and decorated with the colors of Adrenaline, but it is a real BarretinaHyperLite! The job of tuning the Adrenaline prototype, will enable us adjust the better trim speed. It is expected a new set of only three risers per side. The great work, the money, and time, invested in this prototype by Adrenaline Paragliders are being helpful to the project BarretinaHyperLite and the overall development of the concept of simple surface paragliders. The simple surface glider, with the plans freely available in public domain for study, and a real model soon in flight...

Stability and collapse resistance of the simple skin paragliders certainly looks pretty small, acording previous experiences. Then, the advantages would be the light weight/volume and ease of construction.

Keep in mind that this is an experimental prototype, currently under development. The reactions of this wing can be potentially dangerous, and is (actually) not certified.

Note about DXF format.
Note
, September 2013: I am aware that open and print DXF files, it is not easy for non-specialists in CAD. So I am preparing a collection of PDFs for printing in A4 or A3 format and facilitate the work, to potential builders.
