LEPARAGLIDING 3.27+ IN CURRENT DEVELOPMENT
As of January 2026, we are making improvements and adding options to LEparagliding
Below are some of the improvements that will be part of the next version.
Update 2026-01-07
SECTION 26. GLUE VENTS
Needless to say, this section is very practical and allows you to automatically define a wide variety of air inlets.
Corrected the position marks of the air inlets in the profiles.
Previously, cases 1 and -1 marked both inlets and this caused
confusion.
In the type -4 inlets (variable diagonal) the marks were not in the correct position (detected by Tim Weber in the Swoop).
Now the marks of types 4 and -4 are correctly interpolated to their real position. Revised markings for types -5,5,6,-6.
Example Swoop with proper inlets witth in ribs 13 and 14:

SECTION 27. SPECIAL WING TIP
Following the proposals of some designers, we are adding the
possibility of rounding the wingtip cell. We propose a modification
called type "2", which fits a generic degree parabola to the wing tip.
The rear part of the profile remains rectilinear. Starting from a
certain point defined at a distance d from the leading edge, a parabola
is initiated and ends at the rib located most towards the center.
We have two parameters to control the shape of the parabola, the
distance d indicated before, and the angle of tangency with the leading
edge. If angle 0.0 is indicated, the program automatically calculates
the parabola so that it is tangent to the leading edge. But any other
angle of choice can also be defined.
The data group for this type 2 is almost identical to type 1, very simple and looks like this example:

And the result:

This modification probably won't result in a spectacular performance
gain... but a more aesthetic aspect :-) The truth is that it
complicates the programming a bit... but I'm taking the opportunity to
put order in the code. The rounded panels are not yet programmed...
Here is the mathematical basis of the parabola used:
